Manja is a full service catering company offering the finest in Italian, Mediterranean, and Latin cuisine to residents and businesses in the New Jersey area. At Manja, we believe that serving food is a story in itself. Our chef Jacqueline has a Mediterranean and Italian background while Manny, business partner and love of her life is of Cuban descent.
“This business came at a time in my life when I thought I wasn’t able to make a living or have any real purpose due to my illness. I was diagnosed with MS in 2005. I tried to continue in my field of work at the time but due to my ailments, I wasn’t able to keep up. One thing I have always been in love with was cooking. I have been cooking my whole life with a very large family! We can’t miss when it comes to authentic Italian, Mediterranean, Spanish (and even Asian) cuisine! All of our dishes are made with authentic recipes, passed down from generation to generation. Anyone can follow a recipe, but watching and learning the techniques and secrets of making these dishes is an art. I ventured into catering with the help and support of my husband Manny. From there I was able to hone my techniques in all aspects of preparing multi-cultural dishes. I know there is so much more to learn and it is a daily process, but the fact that I can do it , keeps me alive. It keeps me focused and purposeful! I am very thankful that it has given me the strength to do my best.”
Even the name Manja is unique! Manja derived from combining both Manny and Jacqueline names. It’s not the correct way to spell “Mangia” (which means “eat” in Italian), but it is truly a blend of our love for food and for each other.
Our hours of operations are Monday – Friday 5 A.M – 5 P.M., but we are reachable via e-mail and phone 7 days a week.
